2022-2023 Walk-for-FUNds - May 19, 2023

2022-2023 Walk for FUNds

What is the Walk for FUNds that is being held on May 19, 2023?
The Walk for FUNds is Boght Hills Elementary School PTA’s main fundraiser of the year. The PTA relies on this major event to raise funds that support all the PTA-sponsored fun family events and educational programs that more than 580 Boght Hills students and their families will enjoy this year! The Walk for FUNds is an opportunity for students’ families, relatives, and neighbors, in conjunction with our local business partners, to support Boght Hills through sponsorship of our students. This event builds community, encourages exercise, and allows our students to make a visible contribution to their school, without asking Boght Hills families to sell door-to-door! We’ve moved this year’s event to the fall so we can include fun outdoor activities such as walking, running, and completing an obstacle course.

How will we raise money?
A pledge form will come home shortly. We hope every family that is able will consider making a monetary pledge to support our school and students. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support the many educational and family programs that your PTA puts on every year! Students will have two weeks to ask family, neighbors and friends to contribute. Every donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated. All pledges will be collected in advance of the event.

How can students be prepared on May 19th for the Walk for FUNds?
  1. Wear their sneakers! All students will be scheduled for a fun 30 minutes outdoors, rotating through several active stations.
  2. Fill out the permission slip on the reverse side of this form. All students MUST have their Permission Slip waiver signed and filled out completely in order to participate. Return promptly to your child’s classroom teacher.
  3. Be on the lookout for the PLEDGE FORM coming home next week. We will hold daily prize drawings during the collection period and will award class prizes too. If you’d like to donate a prize, email us! We’d be very grateful.

My Family has a Business! How can I become a Business sponsor?
E-mail president@boghthillspta.org right away and we’ll send you information on becoming a business sponsor! We would love to partner with you and promote your business at the same time.
